St. Bernard Abt 12 is regarded as one of the best beers in the world and is therefore the showpiece of our brewery, the absolute top in the hierarchy of St. Bernard beers. It is brewed in the classic “Quadrupel” style according to the original 1946 recipe.

Character, taste, aromas
St. Bernard Abt 12 has a very fruity aroma, coming from our own specific yeast. It is packed with complex flavors and stands out for its long bittersweet finish. The beer is easy to drink because of its soft full-bodied taste and perfect balance between bitter and sweet. Drinking an Abbot is enjoying life to the fullest.
Culinary
Due to its tasteful character, the Abt 12 can hold its own against a range of rich meat dishes and game preparations, such as stew and rabbit. Blue cheese, for example Roquefort, also form a “perfect match” with the Abbot 12. And don’t forget to combine it with chocolate, for an unexpected but very successful combination.
