St. Bernardus Pater 6

Categories: ,

St. Bernard Pater 6 is brewed according to the classic “double” style, based on the original recipe from 1946. The name of the beer has become a reference and it is popularly referred to as “a Paterke”.

Color
A chestnut brown dark beer with a creamy head.

Character, taste, aromas
This “Paterke” is not just any brown beer, it combines the beneficial flavors of specialty malt with the lively fruitiness of ripe (tree) fruits. Impressions of hazelnut and mocha form the basis of the mouthfeel, which turns into an exquisite and playful joust between the mild taste of dark candy and a lightly roasted and dry grain character. The generous aromas of pear and apple work magnificently into the slightly bitter aftertaste.

Culinary
St. Bernard Pater 6 can be a perfect addition to pork dishes or as a contrast to spicy cheeses.
